Peanut ~ in Maryland

Looking for a Home

Peanut is a 20-pound, neutered adult male Silky mix. Our vet estimates his age to be around 6-7 years old.

We adopted him from a shelter two years ago and have given him a good home. It's been a bit rough and while we've continued to try to make things work, we've come to the sad conclusion that a different home may be the best solution for our Peanut. Even with training, he is not comfortable around young children.

We hope he will be happier, less anxious, and more set up for success in a home without children -- and with someone experienced with littler terriers. He seems to gravitate toward adult woman most.

Peanut is a very sweet and loving boy whose favorite thing in the world is being with his adult people.

Belly rubs, eating no-hide chews, walks with his people (especially in the woods), and keeping an eye on the neighborhood through the living room window are his favorite activities.

He also loves his puzzle toys and is a really clever little guy. All in all -- a smart, active little terrier.

Peanut rides in the car very well. He is allowed on some furniture and happily sleeps in his own bed right next to his people's bed.

He has learned sit, stay, come and quiet.

He is very food motivated so likely amenable to further training.

Peanut tolerates grooming, but is not crazy about having his paws handled.

Peanut is up to date on his shots, had his teeth cleaned last Fall, is heartworm negative, and is on monthly treatment for heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

He's a good dog and we love him very much.

If you have time, affection, and love to give, please contact Peanut's family to find out more about him. Please contact Sarah at (301) 806-4487 or by email satreado@gmail.com.

Since this is a courtesy listing, if you are interested in Peanut, please note that you will be dealing directly with his current owner, not with the Silky Terrier Rescue Charitable Trust. We have neither seen nor evaluated this dog and will not be involved with any arrangements made regarding his adoption.
