Sophie's Story

Katelyn reading to Sophie
My son, Ray, flew Sophie from California to Connecticut in November 2014.

I knew Sophie was a very special dog when she jumped into my arms, from the taxi window.

She loves all people..... everyone! When Ray comes home to visit, Sophie is so happy to see him.

In July and August 2015 we successfully completed "The Pet Partners Therapy Dog Training and Evaluation Program."

Sophie is a Therapy Dog!

On October 23, 2015, she also became a Service Dog, "USA Service Dog Registry."

Sophie has identification badges and a Service Dog vest.

My granddaughter, Katelyn has special needs.

Sophie and Katelyn have an incredible bond.... mutual admiration.

Katelyn reads for Sophie and now knows how to give her specific commands.

Sophie will be able to visit her school this session -- when the teacher makes all the arrangements.

Katelyn calls me every night and also mentions "Sophie"!

Sophie has become "The Therapy Dog" in my neighborhood and beyond......

My two senior sisters look forward to her visits, as well as my immediate neighbors, especially those with children.

She knows where each person or family lives.

As a State Retiree/Connecticut Ambassador, I have taken Sophie with me for many visits and beach walks.

She receives EVERYONE'S attention.

Sophie is very special and I am grateful to have her.
